The sprawling, 400-acre Long Straw Ranch property is ideally suited for upland game hunting, with 150 acres of prime pasture planted for bird cover and 250 acres of native timber.
A trail system traverses the ranchland areas, providing excellent footing from pasture to pasture across the property's entire gently-sloped landscape. A hunt cabin with full utilities is located near the ranch's entrance. The cabin serves as a staging area for checking and cleaning gear, and is also the starting point for our guided hunts.
Long Straw Ranch was acquired by its current owners, Mike Higgins and Melinda Branchini, in 2006. They immediately began the process of "re-claiming" the ranchland from a working cattle/horse property to a recreational hunting operation. The ranchland is now far removed from its original state.
